My view by Justin Griffiths
23 06 2010Where do you live? Swansea
Favourite local place and why: It has to be Oxwich Bay on Gower. It’s a lovely location and offers some great walking and water sport opportunities. The beach is nice and taking a stroll as the sun goes down is hard to beat, then pop into the Oxwich Bay Hotel for a drink and a bite to eat.
Where do you like to eat locally: For me it has to be Patricks with Rooms in Mumbles. Great food, great atmosphere, and they really know how to look after their guests!
If you like, tell us 1 thing about yourself / or tell us something interesting: I enjoy nothing better than dressing up in my Morris Dancing costume and jingling my bells.

Kenfig Beach
22 06 2010Kenfig nature reserve beach, originally uploaded by Foomandoonian.
Located just off the M4 near Bridgend in between Cardiff and Swansea, Kenfig beach is one of those secrets kept well by the locals and surfers looking for something special. Accessible via the Kenfig National Nature Reserve where you can park free of charge, there’s a pleasant 20 minute walk through the dunes to the impressive expanse of coastline linking Porthcawl to Port Talbot. Because of the walk, this is certainly off the beaten track territory and well worth the visit as you are likely to have the whole stretch of sand to yourself. Bliss.
