That means you’d better get your ice skates on if you’ve still got Christmas shopping left to do (and lets be honest, you probably do). As you may well expect from a destination with over 90 different stores, restaurants and cafés, McArthurGlen Bridgend is undoubtedly one of Bridgend’s top Christmas shopping destinations. As well as top designer brands including Calvin Klein, Levis and French Connection, there are kitchenware shops such as Lakeland and Le Creuset plus many other gift shops to peruse at your leisure.
Home to over twenty shops, many of which are high street names, as well as an indoor market with over 30 stalls, Rhiw Shopping Centre is an underrated treasure trove of Christmas gift ideas! Combined with the fact that it is located right at the centre of Bridgend Town, which boasts its own collection of shops, you could have all your shopping needs sewn up in one trip!

Question: What do you get for the sweet-toothed individual in your life that isn’t the same old overpriced box of supermarket chocolates? Answer: A box of delicious local chocs and toffees from one of Bridgend County’s many local producers!  Riley’s Toffee was once one of the most popular sweets around, and Ella Riley’s granddaughter Freya Sykes is now in charge, hand making the toffee once more in store. Then there’s Maple Chocs in Porthcawl where all products are locally sourced so you can be sure of the very best flavour. For something slightly different, you could head on over to Fruity Bouquets who are currently selling some very festive fruity bouquets (think delicious strawberries coated in milk, white and dark chocolate!)
Alternatively, if your Dad’s a keen golfer, you could always get him a Bridgend golf package as the ultimate festive gift! Combining combining accommodation in the likes of Coed y Mwstwr and Great House, Laleston with rounds of golf at top courses like Pyle & Kenfig and the mighty Royal Porthcawl. Surprise Dad with this on Christmas Day and he won’t forget it!
